Father’s Day

My dad would probably consider himself a bit of a foodie.  He loves a good meal and has taught us all to enjoy fine dinning.  A few years ago we started a bit of a tradition where we kids will make a nice gourmet meal for dad at home.  So he has the meal of a fine dinning restaurant (ok maybe not that good – but good) in the luxury of his own home.  Meaning he is in the pool until 5 min before we eat.

My sister inherited my dad’s cooking gene and was our lead chef until she decided to move to Chicago.  Last year Natalie took the reins but we had Brian to help with the grill.  Now that Brian is a dad it was pretty much up to Natalie and I to do most of the work – my moms helps too.

We did pretty well I think.  We had steak, twice baked potatoes, a grilled squash zucchini medley and best of all chocolate cake! It was a pretty yummy meal.

Here is a photo of my dad making the most of this father’s day – sleeping in the recliner with golf on – what better way to spend the day?

Happy father’s day daddy!

New Light

I decided yesterday that it seems I pretty much write this blog just for Josh and Chris. They seem to enjoy it so I guess I can’t quit it.

TV on DVD…

Is my new favorite thing! I got Nexfilx so that I could watch Season 1 of Mad Men (best show on TV!!!! Please watch it – you will love it – I promise.) this summer before the next season came out. Now I am wondering how I got by without Netflix before! I think I had put way too much emphasis on the DVR – please do not take this the wrong way I still love my DVR very much. I would record stuff that I planned to watch one day if I was sitting around with nothing to do. Now I have all of these shows that are just sitting there and maybe will never be watched because I have discovered Netflix. I am now watching the Tudors Season 1 and am a little obsessed. I have been really into the Henry VIII saga for a while now. I am not sure why – but it is very interesting to me. So here is what is on my list. What should I add?

Entourage
Big Love
Dexter
Freaks and Geeks

Netflix has amazing turn around by the way! I kind of love them right now.

New Addition

No not the band – although they are highly entertaining – I have added a new feature to the BooBlog. Josh has requested that I get a tumblr account – since him and Chris have them. Apparently I will do whatever Josh tells me – except shop at Wal-Mart – so there you have it. Here is the link http://thebooblog.tumblr.com/ it is now on the home page so you can check it out when you check out the BooBlog. What better way to start it than a photo of the B.

You will find random photos that I will take with my phone and if I am trying to be just like Josh and Chris these photos will contain a lot of food and dogs – oh and bowling.

Enjoy!

It is DONE!

OMG! I just made my last car payment today people! This is probably the most freeing feeling I think I have ever had in my life! (only one other time comes close) I don’t have the pinks (as they refer to them in Grease) yet – but they are coming! What an amazing day! I feel like such an adult and am so glad that I did not decided to get another car this time last year! YAY!!!! Big weight off the shoulders and deep breath inhaled!

Don’t worry Tom & Joe – this money will still be part of the budget – I will always have a car payment as you say.

Flo rida

I heard an interview with the rapper Flo rida the other day on the radio and it was actually very interesting.  He grew up in the projects in one of the toughest neighborhoods in Miami, Florida (imagine that!)  Well since he has made it big he does a lot for the community he grew up in.  He gives a LOT of money back – he has a Thanksgiving program where he gives away hundreds of turkeys to the poor.  He really makes a lot of effort to help the people that are in the very poor community he grew up in.

Now I bet you are wondering why I am telling you this.  This really gives me a very different view of him as a person.  This new information allows people like me (and you – don’t lie) to feel less guilty for enjoying songs like Low, Sugar and the new one that I don’t know the name of but when I hear it on the radio I never change the channel but feel like a freak for enjoying it.  You know the “you spin me right round baby” song…. Now I will not have to feel guilty anymore knowing that even though his music is cheesy he is trying to make a difference.  I am just happy that there are rappers that are out there trying to do some good – no matter how awesome or unawesome their music.

So I am in full support of Flo rida and singing – BOOTS WITH THE FUR.  Go out and buy some Flo rida music.

Don’t let me regret this blog Flo rida.

Yeah that’s right – I just wrote a blog about Flo rida, and?!

I did a bad, bad thing

I invited some of my girlfriends out to Salado to spend a weekend relaxing in the country and riding some 4 wheelers. I made sure to inform both Chris and Josh prior to this engagement so that they would be aware of what was going on. Well I let the girls wear bandanas, which I knew that Josh and Chris would be pissed about it but was just hoping they might not notice. This was totally the boy’s idea that was stolen by me – 100%. I got the very saddest IM from Josh today telling me that he and Chris were sad I did that. So sorry boys!

According to Josh these are the rules I must follow:
“we just need to know that these friends of yours are super special… and they understand that wearing the bandana is not some super cool thing that a couple of hot guys on 4wheelers invented… but it is a symbol of friendship and awesomenss”

They are worthy – they all appreciate the importance of the 4 wheeler and are great wonderful friends of mine. We have started a tradition by taking this trip and it felt like the bandanas were right.

The bandanas will always belong to you guys! I will never let another group wear them without first seeking your approval. Thank you for caring so much…..

Addressing the rumors

I am setting the record straight and in reference to an earlier post – if there was something for you to know I would tell you.  So I am telling all that yes I am dating someone, its been about 6 weeksish.  Don’t make a big deal – don’t freak out and scream like my cousin did or not believe me like my sister-in-law did.  His name is Brian and he is a very nice guy.  Maybe too nice for a 29 year old never been married man.  I actually met him online which might seem weird because there are a LOT of weird people trying to date online – me not being one of them of course, I am the most normal person ever.  But that is how people do it these days so whatever – I am over it being weird so you should be too.  He seems very normal so far – but I think I am waiting for the other shoe to fall – he is a giant dork though which makes me laugh. You will all get to meet him soon. Bring on the e-mails and I pray to God he does not read this – although if he is he thinks it is cute that I am writing this and wishes he had a blog to do the same.

PS – no I will not post a photo of him and you are not allowed to facebook stalk him! Patience is a virtue.

PPS – Josh and Chris say I am yelling – not yelling – sorry if it comes off that way

Aquarium Cliché

Yesterday I was at the dentist and they gave a big aquarium in the waiting room.  As I was looking at it and realized that they had every fish in there from Finding Nemo.  They had a big and little clown fish, a Dorie, a star fish and even the fish from the tank with the scar.  If you have seen Finding Nemo you will understand why that is weird.  Pretty much the whole movie Nemo is trying to escape from the aquarium in the dentist’s office.  Dylan and Grace say that fish don’t have feelings – but whatever I think that is just weird!  It is like the opposite of Finding Nemo and these fishes are all probably trying to get back to their families but since they don’t live in a an aquarium by the ocean that will never happen, so sad.

PS – Finding Nemo ride at Epcot was way cool, except for the fact that you come out of the ride into an aquarium and there are all the fish from the movie – what is up with that?!  Does anyone actually WATCH this movie or do they just not understand it?!
